The Loneliest, significato e traduzione

The Loneliest è una canzone del gruppo rock italiano Måneskin, pubblicata nell’ ottobre del 2022 come terzo singolo dal loro terzo album in studio Rush!, pubblicato l’anno seguente. Dopo il successo del precedente “Supermodel”, i Maneskin tornano con questo nuovo singolo, reso disponibile su tutte le piattaforme digitali il 7 ottobre 2022.

The Loneliest – singolo d’esordio più ascoltato al mondo su Spotify nel giorno della sua uscita – è un nuovo capitolo della band romana, quel secondo capitolo di “Teatro d’Ira vol.1”, rinviato dopo l’esplosione internazionale.

La canzone è stata scritta dai membri della band assieme a James Abrahart, Jason Evigan, Rami Yacoub e Sarah Hudson, con la produzione di Fabrizio Ferraguzzo, durante una sessione di registrazione a Los Angeles, California. Il cantante Damiano David ha raccontato il significato della canzone:

«La canzone è una via di mezzo tra una lettera d’amore e un testamento. L’ho scritta in un momento molto difficile della mia vita, quando ero lontano da casa e dalle persone che amo. L’idea è: cosa vorrei dire a queste persone se dovessi morire? Parla di sensazioni a cui tutti possono relazionarsi e ci piacerebbe tanto capire come persone diverse comprendono il testo. Siamo felici di essere riusciti a prenderci un po’ di tempo per scrivere tanta nuova musica. Abbiamo scelto di uscire con questo singolo perché mostra un lato di noi che la gente non ha ancora visto e volevamo iniziare il nostro nuovo percorso da qui»

Il chitarrista Thomas Raggi ha programmato il processo di scrittura della musica, dicendo che “ha sperimentato molto con la chitarra e i pedali, che mi ha permesso di scrivere in modo creativo e dargli colore”, mentre il batterista Ethan Torchio ha definito il processo di produzione di ” The Loneliest” riparatore per la bannd.
